Introducing WSMO, the Winter Solstice Math Olympiad. WSMO is a free online math contest for grades 12 and under with problems ranging from AMC8 to AIME difficulty that will be held on 12/21/2021 at 6:30 PM EST
WSMO has five rounds:
speed, with 10 questions and 10 minutes to solve them, accuracy, with 10 questions and 25 minutes to solve them, and team, with 15 questions and 45 minutes to solve them.
WSMO will be held using Google Forms to input answers, which are short answer format (not bubbling). The problems will be given in PDFs, one for each round, which are all password protected. When you sign up, you will gain access to a test portal in which, on the contest date, the links to the PDFs and the links to Google Forms will be posted. The passwords for the PDFs will be posted on a Zoom meeting, which you will get a link for from the portal on test day.
Correct answers in the speed round are worth 4 points each, incorrect answers are worth -1 point each. Correct answers in the accuracy round are worth 6 points each, and incorrect answers are worth -2 points each. Correct answers in the team round are worth 10 points each, and incorrect answers are worth 0 points.
